Studies in Practical Knowledge

Studies in practical knowledge are studies of the types of knowledge which are
found and established in and through different professions, i. e. in working
life. The project concentrates on professions in which core competence is found in and through the meetings between professionals and clients, i. e. doctoring, nursing, teaching, social work etc.. The aim is to explore the epistemologies and ethics of such professions through a narrative approach taking as the point of departure the stories professionals tell about dilematic experiences from their working life. The project is supported by a five years infrastructural grant from the Baltic Sea Foundation and is carried out in close collaboration with the master course in Practica Knowledge given by Center for Studies in Practical Knowledge at Södertörn University College.
